Il Maestro di Campo di Giove
Exhibition identity, typography — 2023
The exhibition "Il Maestro di Campo di Giove - Ricomporre un capolavoro", curated by Federica Zalabra and Cristiana Pasqualetti for Museo Nazionale d’Abruzzo, aims to restore the original appearance of the Custodia di Sant'Eustachio following its tragic theft in 1902. This theft deprived Abruzzo art of a crucial element for reconstructing 14th-century Central Italian painting and the largest narrative cycle dedicated to the saint's figure.
The exhibition's identity is crafted from the shapes of thirteen panels discovered to date, blending late Gothic artistic photographic details with contemporary typography and a design system inspired by the panel frames. This collection, united for the first time in over a century, is the highlight of the exhibition.
